Mountain Youth Rugby (MYR) exists to teach the sport of rugby to boys and girls in grades K-8 in the mountain communities around Conifer, Evergreen, and Bailey, Colorado.
MYR is focused on developing players for a lifelong love of rugby in a safe and fun environment. No prior rugby experience is necessary for any age group.
Founded in 2010, MYR is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization where all proceeds are reinvested directly into the program to benefit as many young rugby players in the area as possible.
Since 2010, MYR has participated in Rugby Colorado's Spring TRY league, which has jamborees/games on Saturdays in May and June. Games typically start on the 3rd Saturday in May, and end on the last Saturday in June. Practices start in mid-April, pending spring snow and weather. Registration typically opens in February. Visit the MYR Calendar page for the most up-to-date information.
Since 2023, MYR has participated in Rugby Colorado's Fall TRY league. The Fall TRY league has jamborees/games on six consecutive Saturdays in September and October, from the 2nd Saturday in September through the 2nd Saturday in October. MYR will make decisions about participating in Fall TRY leagues on an annual basis. Practices would begin in August. Registration opens in late July/early August. Visit the MYR Calendar page for the most up-to-date information.
Rugby Colorado implemented new age group delineations in Fall 2025.
*Birthdates are for the Fall 2025 & Spring 2026 seasons.
*A player may be waivered up or down to a different age group, based on coach discretion and factoring in the player's skills, experience, age, and size.

Girls and boys play separately in games for the 14U age group. If our club's 14U Girls numbers are sufficient, MYR will make every attempt to have a dedicated coach for the 14U Girls team, with girls practicing separately from the boys. If MYR 14U Girls numbers are insufficient, the girls will practice with the boys, and MYR 14U Girls will combine with other clubs' 14U Girls to form teams on game days.
**8th graders playing in the Spring season:
MYR encourages the majority of the 8th grade boys (especially those who have played rugby before) to play with PAC during PAC's spring season. PAC is the local Boys High School team for the Conifer, Evergreen, and Bailey area. PAC's 15's season runs from January/February to May. The 8th graders who play with PAC play a handful of games against other 8th/9th/10th graders (16U Tier 2) from area teams. This allows the 8th graders who have played rugby in the past to keep progressing and learning so they can be best prepared for boys high school rugby.
8th graders new to rugby are encouraged to play with MYR in the Spring season.
PAC is the Boys High School rugby team for the Conifer, Evergreen, and Bailey area. PAC plays 15's rugby in the Spring (games in March/April/May; practices start in January/February). PAC plays 7's rugby in the Fall (games in Sept/Oct/Nov; practices start in August). Follow PAC on Facebook and Instagram. Contact Head Coach Hugh Miller for more information.
Lumberjackies is the Girls High School rugby team for the Conifer, Evergreen, and Bailey area. The Lumberjackies play 7's rugby in the Fall (games in September/October/November; practices start in August). Follow the Lumberjackies on Instagram. Contact Head Coach Julie Lehman for more information.
